It was nearly 3 months ago now when I was visiting another local community house here in Knox,  when I was offered to apply for the immerse exhibition. This is part of my aspirations for my students and myself to have a public exhibit. So, I applied for myself and 13 of my participants who have completed Digital Photography Part 1 & 2, and Photoshop Basics Part 1 Short Courses.
My vision was clear, in terms of a theme. ‘Black & White World of Perceptions’  So I went ahead and applied … my belief in myself and my students capabilities, held true to what we have manifested over the past couple of months.
I am so proud as I have organized the entire group over the past couple of months. Decisions had to be made, photos had to be chosen, I had to decide on the medium to use, pretty much I have been immersed with this entire project, as I worked along side curator Gabriella Calandro  and Jo Herbig Community Arts Officer for Knox City Council.
A huge shout out for making this all possible. Being the first of its kind, already a success.
What a fantastic opportunity.  I have led the way with the support of the Basin Community House to complete this project.
I am thrilled beyond words and this is one of the most proudest moments to date.

The Basin Community House provides facilitates and supports these ACFE accredited short courses in a friendly, warm and encouraging environment. Attracting a wide array of adult learners including hobbyists, artists and small business owners from the surrounding area. The course nurtures and guides the participants through the expressive process, and makes sure that at the end of the course they are ready to pursue their artistic aspirations with full confidence.

Tutor, Ms Anderson has been running short courses with the Basin Community House for the past 3 years, assisting adult learners within the local area in developing their knowledge of photography and expressing their creativity through this visual medium. The exhibition by the collective investigates the use of light and contrast in black and white photography. Artists have developed a photograph that best showcases their newly learnt photography skills learnt while also displaying their artistic expression. Overall the exhibition shines a light on the creative artistry of photographers in the local community in and around Knox.
